Hydrotherapy (aquatic/pool therapy)

Hydrotherapy, or acquatic/pool rehabilitation, can be beneficial - through gravity reduction, muscle relaxation induced by heated water and enhanced proprioceptive feedback derived from the water-skin contact - during the rehabilitative procress, possibly before and/or after surgery, in case of:

  • movement disorders
  • musculoskeletal disorders
  • orthopaedic conditions
  • traumatology
  • OA
  • joint/articular disorders
  • osteoporosis
  • rheumatism/rheumatic disorder
  • neurologic disorders
  • balance disorders
  • fibromyalgia
  • chronic fatigue
  • other diseases/conditions

It's not necessary being able to swim and is indicated at any age - plus, the Swiss health insurances (Cassa Malati) cover it as water physical therapy.
